Using high-definition, theatrical sets and animation, the multimedia show Washington Stories integrates historical and contemporary people and events. The sweep of history is there, from L’Enfant’s “grande veezion” to burgeoning suburbanization and voting rights. There’s fun, mystery and pathos. “It’s not quite a movie and not quite a play,” Abraham Genauer wrote in an article in The Hill, “but rather something completely different than any presentation you’ll see at another museum.”
